Estimated Dates: End of March, early April 2026 or ASAP depending on river levels, weather forecasts and conditions Estimated Duration: 6-8 Weeks (depending on the extent of works identified from an initial survey once the lock is dewatered) The Trust has identified that Nafford Lock is likely not to survive another season. Therefore the Trust plans to fully dewater and undertake a full underwater, cill, foundation, gates and paddle refurbishment of the Lock in the early part of 2026. This will result in the lock being closed for a period of about 6-8 weeks depending on the required works. Once we have firm dates and timescales we will issue a Full Restriction Warning Notice. This notice has been issued to give boaters early warning of these proposed works.
